MOU Signed with FAST University, Pakistan's Prominent Science University

On September 13 (Wednesday), Plus W signed an MOU with FAST University (Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, commonly known as FAST-NUCES, hereinafter referred to as FAST University), a science university in Pakistan with strengths in the application of advanced technologies, particularly in the field of computer science.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Aftab Ahmed (Rector) and faculty members from the Department of Computer Science from FAST University, as well as from Plus W by Mr. Horiuchi, Executive Vice President and COO, Mr. Shiono, Head of the Pakistan Japan Center, and Mr. Umair, Vice Head of the Pakistan Japan Center. Both sides agreed to deepen their cooperation in human resources and technology exchange between Japan and Pakistan, in the IT industry.

As a specific initiative going forward, starting from October of the same year, we are planning to provide the current students or graduates of FAST University with Japanese language education specific to IT engineers in the form of workshops, in addition to advanced topics such as the Japanese IT development environment and data science.

After the signing ceremony, Professor Muhammad Asif Naeem of the Computer Science Department introduced us several laboratories working on different areas such as AI and cybersecurity.

Through this agreement, we will promote further expansion of opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals to play an active role in Japanese companies.
Furthermore, based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for the “New Business Creation Promotion Support Project in Emerging DX Countries”, this initiative is being implemented as part of a demonstration for the development of highly skilled IT professionals, with a focus on IT as well as Japanese language and culture, in the field of human resource development of Pakistan, and to promote their matching with Japanese companies.
