MOI Signed with NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan

NED University Registrar Mr. Ghazanfar Hussain and Plus W’s Head of the Pakistan-Japan Centre Mr. Shiono

On September 18 (Monday), Plus W signed an MOI with the Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw University of Engineering and Technology (hereinafter referred to as “NED University”), one of the oldest engineering universities in Pakistan, located in Karachi which is the largest commercial city of the country.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Muhammad Tufail (Pro Vice Chancellor) and Mr. Syed Ghazanfar Hussain (Administrate officer of the Registrar office), together with Dr. Muhammad Mubashir Khan (Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and IT) and faculty members from the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical Engineering from NED University, as well as from Plus W by Mr. Horiuchi, Executive Vice President & COO, and Mr. Shiono, Head of the Pakistan Japan Centre. Both sides agreed on strengthening their cooperation in human resources and technology exchange between Japan and Pakistan, in the IT industry.

As a specific initiative going forward, starting from October of the same year, we are planning to provide the current students or graduates of NED University with specialized Japanese language education for IT engineers in the form of workshops, as well as regarding Japan’s IT development environment and advanced technologies.

After the signing ceremony, Prof. Muhammad Ali Ismail guided us around the computer labs, and also about the internationally recognized Computer Science curriculum.
Through this agreement, we will promote further expansion of opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals to play a pivotal role in Japanese companies.

Furthermore, based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) for the "New Business Creation Promotion Support Project in Emerging DX Countries", this initiative is being implemented as part of a demonstration for the development of highly skilled IT professionals, with a focus on IT and on Japanese language and culture, in the field of human resource development of Pakistan, as well as to promote their matching with Japanese companies.
