MOU Signed with the UCP (University of Central Punjab), Pakistan’s Prominent Business School

On September 21 (Thursday), Plus W signed an MOU with UCP (University of Central Punjab, commonly and hereinafter referred to as “UCP”) in Pakistan, which has strengths in technology, such as electronics engineering and computer science, as well as in business administration.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Raheel Anjum Bhatti (Registrar) and faculty members from the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science of UCP, as well as from Plus W by Mr. Horiuchi, Executive Vice President & COO, Mr. Shiono, Head of Pakistan Japan Centre, and Mr. Umair, Vice Head of the Pakistan Japan Centre. Both sides agreed to cooperate closer in human resources and technology exchange between Japan and Pakistan, in the IT industry.

As a specific initiative for the future going forward, starting from October of the same year, we are planning to provide the current students or graduates of UCP with Japanese language education specific to IT engineers in the form of workshops, in addition to advanced It topics such as the Japanese IT development environment as well as data science.

After the signing ceremony, Mr. Sikandar Sethi, Deputy Director of the International Office, guided us around the Innovation Centre, where professors and graduates of the university support and help students implement their innovative ideas into the society.

Through this agreement, we will promote further expansion of opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals to play a major role in Japanese companies.

Furthermore, based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) for the “New Business Creation Promotion Support Project in Emerging DX Countries”, this initiative is being implemented as part of a demonstration for the development of highly skilled IT professionals, with a focus on IT as well as Japanese language and culture, in the human resource development field of Pakistan, and to promote their matching with Japanese companies.
