1 Day Workshop for the Computer Science Department at University of Central Punjab (UCP) for Job Opportunities in Japan

On November 16th 2023 (Thursday), Plus W organized a 1 Day Workshop for the Computer Science department of the University of Central Punjab (UCP) in Lahore, Pakistan. The event aimed to explore UCP students to the opportunities available in Japan's rapidly advancing Information Technology (IT) sector.

The workshop featured Mr. Shiono, Head of Japan Centre, and Mr. Talha, an Associate from Plus W Inc. Their presentations were not only informative but truly inspirational, offering a deep dive into the current AI projects revolutionizing the Japanese market. Through their expert lens, students gained first-hand knowledge of the state-of-the-art technologies and groundbreaking innovations that are the driving forces behind Japan’s IT industry.

The diversity and sophistication of Japan’s technological landscape were vividly brought to life as Mr. Shiono and Mr. Talha explored various AI applications. Their talks spanned across multiple industries, illustrating the transformative impact of AI in sectors such as healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. A key highlight of their presentation was the emphasis on Japan’s growing need for skilled IT professionals, an insightful revelation that opened new horizons for the students, painting a picture of potential future career paths in Japan.

The workshop was particularly significant as it attracted approximately 100 enthusiastic students. The students showed a great level of engagement, eager to underand the nuances of the Japanese IT job market and the practical application of advanced IT technologies. Their active participation and inquisitive nature underscored the success of the event, highlighting the growing interest among Pakistan's youth in international career opportunities and higher education prospects.

Furthermore, based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) for the “New Business Creation Promotion Support Project in Emerging DX Countries”, this initiative is being implemented as part of a demonstration for the development of advanced IT professionals, with a focus on IT, Japanese language and culture, in the field of human resource development of Pakistan, as well as to promote their matching with Japanese companies.
