MOU Signed with University of Karachi, Pakistan

On September 15 (Friday), Plus W signed an MOU with the University of Karachi, a prominent general university with the highest number of enrolled students, located in Karachi which is the largest commercial city of Pakistan.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Khalid M. Iraqi (Vice Chancellor) together with faculty members from the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Commerce from the University of Karachi, as well as from Plus W by Mr. Horiuchi, Executive Vice President and COO by Mr. Shiono, Head of the Pakistan Japan Center. Both sides agreed to deepen their cooperation in human resources and technology exchange between Japan and Pakistan, in the IT industry.

As a specific initiative going forward, starting from October of the same year, we are planning to provide the current students or graduates of the University of Karachi with specialized Japanese language education for IT engineers in the form of workshops, as well as regarding IT development environment and advanced technologies of Japan.

Through this agreement, we will promote further expansion of opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals to play an active role in Japanese companies.
Furthermore, based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) for the "New Business Creation Promotion Support Project in Emerging DX Countries", this initiative is being implemented as part of a demonstration for the development of highly skilled IT professionals, with a focus on IT and on Japanese language and culture, in the field of human resource development of Pakistan, as well as to promote their matching with Japanese companies.
